Arón

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

Arón – Who will give this charming senior a home? Arón is 10 years old and is in a perrera in Galicia. We urgently want to prevent him from spending the winter there. Winters here are harsh – especially for an older dog. He was found abandoned, without a chip and without any trace of his past. Together with two other dogs, Manu and Julio. We will also introduce them to you. They probably were no longer suitable as hunting dogs and were simply discarded. And yet Arón has retained his love for people. He just wants affection and petting. He is beautiful, incredibly sweet and calm – a true gentleman on four paws. ❤️ Arón should not have to spend his twilight years in a perrera. He deserves a warm bed, security and people who love him. Who will give this wonderful older gentleman his chance in a home or as a foster home? ❤️ Profile Name: Arón Age: 10 years Size: medium weight: approx. 12–15 kg Character: sweet, gentle and calm Compatibility: not yet known Location: Perrera in Galicia, Spain If Arón leaves, he is already vaccinated, chipped, neutered, dewormed, has a valid EU pet passport and has all the necessary veterinary examinations. An adoption means responsibility for a whole dog's life. It should only be done if there is enough time, patience and understanding to give the dog a permanent home and lovingly accompany him on his arrival.

About Arón

What life with Arón looks like

Arón is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Hundehoffnung-Berlin in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Arón, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Arón?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundehoffnung-Berlin handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Arón on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Arón if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundehoffnung-Berlin will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Arón already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Arón isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundehoffnung-Berlin early rather than rehoming privately; they know Arón and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
