adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Arthur has found his people! His story: Happy Dog Arthur is already waiting in a foster home in Germany and is searching for his own family. Arthur is 5 months old and came to Germany with his brother Smile at the end of August. He has settled in his foster home very well. Arthur shows absolute clinginess and people-oriented behavior there. He learns very quickly and wants to please "his" person. Arthur gets along well with other dogs and likes to play with them in the yard. Arthur is a typical playful male puppy who greets everyone very friendly and open. He loves to play with other dogs and is happy about every affection and pat. Arthur is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog and hopefully settle into his new home quickly. Of course, at his young age, he has no experience with life as a house dog and has not heard of house training or leash walking. But Arthur is a very lively and smart puppy who wants to please people. With lots of love, understanding, and positive reinforcement, he will surely learn the Welpen-1×1 course quickly. In a few months, the sweet boy will enter puberty, which will bring everything he has learned so far into question. Rules will be reevaluated, and boundaries will be tested. But with a loving and consistent upbringing style, the smart boy will emerge from this phase as a well-mannered and confident young dog, faithfully accompanying his family in all activities. We wish Arthur loving and patient people who would like to offer him family connection, a warm dog bed, beautiful walks, and plenty of contact with fellow animals. After the adjustment period, we would recommend a visit to a positively working dog training class, where Arthur can train together with his new family and gain positive experiences. Arthur is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has his EU pet passport in his bag. Thank you, Ivonne! You gave Arthur a name and the chance at a happy future. As of: 04.09.

Stand: 04.09.2025

About Arthur

What life with Arthur looks like

Arthur is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Arthur, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Arthur?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Arthur on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Arthur if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Arthur already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Arthur isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Arthur and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
