Atos

Male · Senior · 12 years

Atos is a name from home. His people could no longer care for him, so he ended up in a shelter. He has wonderful eyes—each one a different color—and despite his young age, he’s bursting with energy! On top of that, he boasts a lovely, fluffy coat. He’s a friendly, sociable dog. Long walks are his absolute favorite. He joyfully runs ahead, loves open spaces, and adores the wind “in his hair” :) He’s also a big fan of canine-human interactions—he never neglects the companion on the other end of the leash. Regularly, he’ll trot over for a bit of affection and then return to sniffing around. He’s a regular visitor to promotional events outside the shelter. He knows cars really well and enjoys traveling in them. In Warsaw’s parks, among people and other dogs, he behaves beautifully. He loves human hands that pet him—sometimes he barks at other dogs, while at other times he simply walks past them indifferently. He happily takes baths in the park’s ponds and pools. In his kennel, Atos often stands by the bars, wagging his tail at anyone who comes into view. Let’s not let him lose hope or his cheerful disposition! Who will fall in love with Atos?

PL·Show original

Atos to imię z domu. To stały bywalec akcji promocyjnych poza schroniskiem. Świetnie zna samochód i lubi nim podróżować. Kto pokocha Atosa?

About Atos

What life with Atos looks like

Atos is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Atos, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Atos?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Atos on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Atos if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Atos already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Atos isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Atos and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
