adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Attila has found a home! His story: Cluj, Romania. Attila, a heart with four legs, believes in the good. Attila is a brown Lab mix and is approximately two months old. He was found with his 5 siblings. Unfortunately, we don't know much about the first months of his siblings. One thing is certain, Attila has not lost faith in the goodness of people and now only wishes for a family that will give him security. The start of the little one's life was certainly not easy, yet he never gave up hope for a better life. He is a true fighter, who, although at first a bit shy, warms up quite quickly and curiously explores his surroundings. Attila is still a puppy, so we wish for a loving family that will patiently teach him the basics of being a puppy. A positively run dog training class offers a good opportunity for the little rascal to learn and play with his fellow animals. Unfortunately, it is not puppyhood, as we know, that comes next—adolescence follows, which can often be challenging. The hormone chaos turns the little one's life upside down. He may "forget" what you've carefully taught and built together. Sometimes his ears also go on a "vacation." Therefore, it is especially important during this phase to consistently—but lovingly—raise him. Good news: This phase also passes! Attila travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport to his new home. The little guy would also be happy to stay in a foster home. Do you want to show Attila that it was right not to lose faith in people? Many thanks, Andrea G.! You gave Attila his name.

Vielen Dank Andrea G.! Du hast Attila seinen Namen geschenkt.

About Attila

What life with Attila looks like

Attila is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Attila, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Attila?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Attila on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Attila if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Attila already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Attila isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Attila and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
