Adopt Azorel

Mixed Breed · Male

AZOREL – fiery, black "raven" on four paws Azorel, a handsome, pitch-black, agile young male dog, has been living with Anna Kala at the animal shelter of the Glücklichen Vagabunden in Baia Mare for over a year. On a cold February morning, the stray puppy was found searching for food at Nicoleta's front door. Emaciated to the bone, shivering, and with fearful eyes, he looked at Nicoleta, unsure whether to flee or follow her into the house. He chose the latter... and thus, for food and a safe haven in the animal shelter. There, the young male dog with his glossy black fur lives together with ten-year-old Veve, who, despite her age, is still quite agile and loves to play with Azorel. Azorel fascinates all the helpers and visitors with his charm and carefree nature. He is very playful, full of energy, and almost as fiery as a black raven. Nevertheless, his longing gaze reveals his greatest wish… a home, a life of freedom. A life with active people who enjoy being outdoors, taking long walks, but also lots of cuddle time, all of this would suit Azorel's nature very well. Azorel travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, tested for Mediterranean diseases, with an EU passport and Traces papers to his new home. If you are interested in Azorel, please send us a message with your name, phone number, and email address, or call us at 0 175 – 5384 340. We would be delighted to learn a bit more about Azorel's potential new home and his new family. This is a young, adolescent dog.

About Azorel

What life with Azorel looks like

Azorel is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Azorel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Azorel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Azorel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Azorel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Azorel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Azorel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aktion Tierisch Happy e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Azorel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
