Azra

Mixed Breed · Female · 5 months

The owner of the lovable Azra unfortunately no longer felt up to it with this cheerful puppy and gave her up. Azra is a lively little dog who is extremely food-motivated. She is social with other dogs and also gets along well with cats. Although with such an energetic little dog it is of course nice if a cat stands its ground firmly! Our rescuer describes her as "playful to the max". I think that is such a fun phrase that I really don't need to add anything to it! When fully grown, Azra is expected to weigh around 16 to 17 kg. Are you ready for long walks, fun training sessions and, of course, lots of playing together? Then Azra may just be the perfect match for you!

Onze rescuer omschrijft haar als “playful to the max”.

About Azra

What life with Azra looks like

Azra is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Stichting Dogs on a Journey in Netherlands.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Azra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Azra?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Dogs on a Journey handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Azra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Azra if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Dogs on a Journey will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Azra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Azra isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Dogs on a Journey early rather than rehoming privately; they know Azra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
