Badger

Male · Young · 1 year

Badger has bags of potential and will benefit from a quiet home where he can continue to grow into the beautiful, goofy, lover boy we know he is! He is a mix of high energy, intelligent breeds - Collie, Spaniel and GSD - so will certainly pick up new skills with ease as he grows in confidence and will one day make a great adventure buddy. Although he can be worried by new places, he does love being outdoors running around, so his new home must have a garden for him to blow off steam in. We can't wait to see Badger find his feet in a loving home! Meet our beautiful Badger, a 1 year old old Spaniel Cross looking for his forever home. Badger came to us as an under-socialised and worried boy and has been making great progress with the patience and kindness of staff at the centre and now in his foster home with all his dog friends. His confidence grows tenfold when he's running around with his doggy pals here, he's so polite and playful and would need and love to share his life with another dog in the home that can show him the ropes. He can be avoidant of humans, especially those he doesn't know or children, so he will need calm and patient owners who are willing to go at his pace to help him grow in confidence and build trust in the world with support from the centre team. Gaining Badger's trust is the most rewarding and heart warming thing you could do and we know he will make his future adopters very happy!

About Badger

What life with Badger looks like

Badger is a young adult dog waiting at Dogs Trust Bridgend in Mid Glamorgan.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Badger, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Badger?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Bridgend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Badger on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Badger if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Bridgend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Badger already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Badger isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Bridgend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Badger and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
