Alfie thrives when he is outdoors and playing with his ball and will be perfect for an active household. He can live with children of late teenage and upwards who will also follow the advice given when Alfie does pick up items he shouldn't have and understand not to take things directly off him. He will be worth the effort. Alfie is looking for an active home who want to teach him some fun skills and put his brain to use. He prefers the company of humans, so much so, that he would prefer to to be the only pet in the home. Alfie mostly will ignore dogs out and about, especially if you have a ball for a distraction. Alfie likes to keep things that he finds on the floor and may resist handing them over over, so an older teen -adult home would be more suitable for him in these situations. He struggles with being left home alone, so his new owners need to ensure that he not on his own for long lengths of time initially, and for any time being left to be built up very gradually. Alfie likes to sleep in a cosy crate den overnight as he finds this comforting and is he is fully housetrained. Alfie travels well in the car, he just needs a little helping hand getting in. Alfie's adopters will need to commit to helping him on his weight loss journey, so that he can fully enjoy going on adventures!
