Such beautiful dogs like Balto rarely come to the animal shelter, after all, such treasures are carefully guarded. Someone, however, didn't guard them - our hound was wandering around a strange village, no one was looking for him, no one was asking. And so he came to us. We have already gotten to know each other a bit and we are looking for a new home for this handsome fellow. To like Balto you also have to like the whole wonderful range of behaviors that original breeds bring with them - a combination of independent character and attachment to humans. On one hand, they are loved teddy bears, very companionable and friendly towards people. On the other, confident, having their own opinion, difficult to handle. Balto seems to be just such a dog. On walks, wonderful - he walks nicely on a leash, has his cheerful moments when he runs more lively and actively, but these are not wild adventures, it's not like a terrier should run through the bushes. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of him is that he is very stable and cultured. In the city, between the blocks, along busy streets, you can walk freely - sniffs with interest, watches new places curiously. Fortunately, there is a lot of calm and thoughtfulness in him. Maybe it's age - he is estimated at 8 years old, maybe it's character and temperament - whatever it is, it's important that he gives a very nice mix of a stable, large, thoughtful dog. The only thing that still excites him a bit is other dogs - we have progress in relations, but not enough yet to be able to pass by everyone everywhere freely. It's definitely something to work on. You know - northern breeds open up slowly, they need to gain trust. It's the same with Balto - at first he is distanced and more interested in the environment than the human, but fortunately, over time he can also shift towards pets and closer contact, it's worth giving him a moment and waiting - brushing his wonderful fur gives a lot of joy to both sides. Due to his age and unknown past, we don't recommend him for a home with small children, older ones who are used to contact with dogs and respect their boundaries, I think they won't be a problem. polski English Deutsch Takie piękne psy jak Balto rzadko trafiają do schroniska, wszak takich skarbów się pilnuje. Ktoś jednak nie upilnował - nasz hasior błąkał się po obcej wsi, nikt nie szukał nikt nie pytał. I tak trafił do nas. Trochę się już poznaliśmy i szukamy nowego domu dla tego przystojniaczka. Żeby polubić Balto trzeba lubić też cały ten cudny wachlarz zachowań jakie niosą ze sobą rasy pierwotne - połączenie niezależności charakteru i przywiązania do człowieka. Z jednej strony kochane misiaki, bardzo towarzyskie i przyjazne do ludzi. Z drugiej, pewne siebie, mające swoje zdanie, trudne do ułożenia. Balto wydaje się być właśnie takim psem. Na spacerach cudowny - ładnie chodzi na smyczy, ma swoje radosne momenty gdy biega żywiej i aktywniej, nie są to jednak dzikie harce, ot buszowanie w chaszczach jak na haszczaka przystało. Pierwsze co mi przychodzi do głowy gdy o nim myślę, że jest bardzo stabilny i kulturalny. W mieście, między blokami, przy ruchliwych ulicach można swobodnie spacerować - węszy z zainteresowaniem, obserwuje zaciekawiony nowe miejsca. Jest w tym na szczęście dużo spokoju i namysłu. Może to wiek - wyceniony jest na 8 lat, może też charakter i temperament - cokolwiek by to było - ważne, że daje bardzo fajną mieszankę stabilnego, dużego, rozważnego psa. Jedyne co go jeszcze trochę nakręca to inne psy - mamy progres w relacji, ale jeszcze nie na tyle duży by można było swobodnie mijać się z każdym i wszędzie. Także to na pewno do przepracowania. Wiadomo - północniaki otwierają się powoli, muszą nabrać zaufania. Tak też jest i z Balto - na początku jest zdystansowany i bardziej zainteresowany środowiskiem niż człowiekiem, z czasem na szczęście potrafi się przekierować również na głaski i bliższy kontakt, warto dać mu chwilę i poczekać - czochranie go po tym cudownym futrze daje mnóstwo radości obu stronom. Z racji wieku i nieznanej przeszłości nie polecamy do domu z małymi dziećmi, większe, obyte w kontakcie z psami i szanujące ich granice myślę że nie będą problemem.
