Bamali

Mixed Breed · Unknown

To her two caretakers, Tere and Josefine, Bamali has a close and trusting bond and behaves very gently and affectionately with them. With strangers, she is initially a bit shy, which is not entirely atypical. For example, when two members of the animal welfare association Europa came to the animal shelter whom she did not know and had two large cameras aimed at her, she first observed the strangers from a distance of 1-2 meters. After a short time, she realized that they only wanted to take photos to present her optimally on the homepage. So she quickly formed a friendship, allowing them to pet, tie, cuddle, and hug her, and ultimately even gave them some licks. Perhaps there is a little "plus-size model" in our Bamali, or? 😉 Despite all the inner peace she carries in her soul, she is not a sad dog but also shows herself to be happy and playful when it is not too hot and when she is in the mood. In her interactions with her fellow animals, she always shows herself to be consistently friendly. It is certainly possible that a similarly social only dog can already be in her new home, but it does not have to be. She shares the kennel with her big friend Bunti, and they get along famously. Bamali loves to lie in the sun and observe what is happening around her. She would be very happy with a garden, especially with nature-loving people who spend a lot of time outdoors, who would also be happy to have a sun-watching post on a spacious terrace. In a small apartment in the city center, Bamali would feel just as uncomfortable as in a chain or kennel. She wants a family connection and access to the living rooms. A soft, clean resting place is a given. We can say almost nothing about Bamali's past, except that she was brought to the animal shelter with her six puppy children by our animal welfare partner Tere from a city Perrera. We do not have any information about why she was there or where she came from. We would be very happy if people who are already experienced with herding dogs or similar breeds would step forward. Or people who inform themselves thoroughly about the nature of this breed in advance. Do you want to help Bamali, but cannot adopt her? Then the possibility exists to take on a sponsorship for the big girl, because big girls eat big portions. To be able to continuously secure her basic provisions, she would be very grateful for a sponsorship that supports her on the way to a "forever home." For more information, see this link:.

About Bamali

What life with Bamali looks like

Bamali is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bamali, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bamali?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bamali on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bamali if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bamali already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bamali isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bamali and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
