Вперше його помітили у шулявському дворі, де він бігав із залишками хвоста з намотаною на ньому щільною тканиною. Небайдужі та сердечні люди помітили Бармалея та вирішили допомогти йому. Зловили, та відвезли до ветеринара, де його хвіст було виліковано,згодом він був кастрований та отримав всі необхідні процедури обробки від паразитів. Завдяки добрим серцям та старанням, Бармалей відчуває себе значно краще та повертається до нормального життя.
