Baxter

Male · Adult · 4 years

Living with dogs: I may be able to live with a dog Living with cats: I cannot live with cats Living with small animals: I cannot live with small animals Looking for: A home with someone around for most of the time who doesn't mind a little shadow Ideal home location: I need a home close to the centre (Worcestershire area) with an enclosed garden Introducing Baxter, a cheeky and loveable terrier cross. At just 4 years old, this handsome boy is looking for a fresh start and a home where he can truly thrive. Baxter is a friendly, affectionate little character who loves being close to his people. In fact, if you're looking for a shadow, Baxter has the job application ready! He'll happily follow you from room to room, keeping you company throughout the day and making sure you never feel lonely. Life in a busy family home became a little too much for Baxter, so we're looking for a calmer household without young children where he can relax and enjoy life at his own pace. He does have some separation anxiety, so he'll need a home where someone is around for most of the day. Baxter enjoys playing ball, although he likes to make the rules. When he's had enough, he'll simply drop the ball as far away from you as possible and wander off to do something much more enjoyable - usually finding a lap to cuddle up on! This sweet, quirky boy has so much love to give and is searching for a local home close to the rescue where he can settle in and become someone's devoted best friend. About Baxter

What life with Baxter looks like

Baxter is a small adult dog waiting at RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Baxter, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Baxter?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Baxter on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Baxter if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Baxter already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Baxter isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Baxter and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
