Adopt Beam

Male · Adult · 8 years

Beam hails from the Hungarian animal shelter and was found alone on the street. Now, he has found refuge with our animal welfare partners and is searching for a permanent home across the country. He loves people above all else, greets everyone with friendliness, and enjoys closeness, cuddles, and shared time. Visually, Beam strongly resembles a boxer and brings many of the wonderful traits of this breed: he is people-oriented, sensitive, clingy, playful, and at the same time a fine-tuned companion who would love to be part of his family. Boxers are known for their exceptional loyalty and strong bonds, and this is evident from the first moment with Beam. The handsome male dog was born around December 2018, stands about 47 cm tall, and weighs 21 kg. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has been medically examined. Of course, he also has an EU pet passport. Beam is currently still living in our partner shelter in Hungary in an outdoor kennel, and with his short fur, this is far from an optimal solution for the cold season. He wishes more than anything to move into a warm, cozy dog bed by the end of January, where he can finally settle in. Beam is very people-oriented, friendly, and cuddly. He also shows great respect when dealing with cats. He knows how to use a leash and harness and enjoys going for walks, being attentive, cooperative, and eager to learn. In dealing with other dogs, Beam is still somewhat inexperienced. He was tested with a few dogs and seems not to be compatible with all of them. We cannot currently assess this at 100%. Attending dog training classes would certainly be a great support for him to further develop safety and social skills. We also consider Beam a good choice for engaged beginners. As always, we remind potential adopters that a dog from an international animal shelter requires time, patience, and a loving welcome. New impressions, new routines, and new bonds should grow in peace. Those who are ready to walk this path together will be rewarded with a very deep connection. Beam is searching for people who will give him time, patience, and love, and who will provide the security that has been denied to him so far. About Beam

What life with Beam looks like

Beam is a adult dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Beam, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Beam?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Beam on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Beam if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Beam already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Beam isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Beam and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
