Bella

Labrador Retriever · Female · Adult · 5 years

Steckbrief Name: Bella Breed: mixed breed (likely Labrador x Border Collie) Features: Very people-oriented, insecure, watchful, partially aggressive, playful, and eager to learn. We specifically ask for contact through the contact form or email regarding the animals in our placement assistance. We cannot provide telephone information! Adopt me! Home wanted for Bella (mixed breed, approximately 3.5 years old, female dog, not neutered) Bella is a 3.5-year-old mixed-breed female dog (likely a Labrador-Border Collie mix) with great potential, clear needs, and a large dose of character. She originally came from animal welfare and has lived with her current guardians for some time, who love her very much. Unfortunately, her health and family circumstances have changed so that she can no longer stay there. The decision to surrender was made with great responsibility towards Bella. Bella is people-oriented, finely tuned, and very intelligent. She seeks closeness through physical contact but also needs her space. She only wants to be petted when she allows it – and clearly shows when something is too much. In overstimulating situations, she actively seeks contact with her primary caregiver and asks for security. Outdoors, she is curious, energetic, and very watchful. She loves water and enjoys swimming. Agility or other tasks also bring her joy. At the same time, she shows strong hunting behavior (rabbits, cats, squirrels, etc.) and a high level of excitement in new or unstructured situations. Dog encounters are situationally dependent. She can relax with individual, confident dogs in a led setting. Dog groups overwhelm her quickly. Walks with distance and structure work best. Resource defense is a central theme. Bella can defend food, toys, or even people in certain situations – sometimes very individually, sometimes aggressively. In stressful situations, she can bite – muzzle training has already been worked on, and she wears it phase-wise safely. She barks at strangers, and she often calms down with the help of quick reassurance. Loud noises, chaos, and unstructured situations stress her greatly. Important: Bella is not a family dog and is not suitable for a turbulent environment. Children, constant visitors, or a hectic everyday life overwhelm her significantly. A home without children and other animals is needed – with a quiet, structured everyday life, patience, experience, and time. Bella is not an easy dog. But she is loyal, watchful, eager to learn, adaptable, and in the right hands, a deeply bonded companion. Summary of Bella: – mixed breed (likely Labrador x Border Collie) – born on April 4, 2020 – female dog, not neutered – microchipped, vaccinated, tested (Mediterranean diseases) – house-trained, can stay alone well, enjoys car rides – very people-oriented, physically affectionate – sensitive, watchful, situationally aggressive – shows resource defense (including people/food) – accustomed to muzzles – shows prey drive, especially towards small animals – dog encounters are situationally dependent, no dog groups – not a family dog – a child-free, quiet home is needed – ideal: an individual person with dog experience and a structured everyday life Important note: Bella still lives with her current guardians and will be rehomed through our placement assistance. If interested, please contact us exclusively through our contact form or by email. We unfortunately cannot provide telephone information!

Steckbrief Name : Bella Rasse: Mischling (vermutlich Labrador x Border Collie) Merkmale : Sehr menschenbezogen, unsicher, wachsam, teilweise aggressiv, verspielt, lernbereit.

About Bella

What life with Bella looks like

Bella is a small adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. in Eutin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz Eutin und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
