Helen B. Ben, born approximately 2018, neutered, approximately 45 cm shoulder height, in the shelter since 2020. Ben is one of our emergencies. He consistently avoids humans and this has a sad reason. When we took him from the public animal shelter, he was brutally pulled out of the kennel by the "dog catchers". It's hard to watch, but if we were to say a word, we would never come back to take in more dogs. Nevertheless, Ben has good potential to be curious about people and eventually seek proximity in a subtle way, if you simply sit down in the kennel with him and let him decide when, how fast, and how close he wants to come. He usually sits behind the person, that's where he feels safest. He is completely compatible with other dogs. You can see all this on the videos. He has already lived in the shelter for so many years and has already deserved to come to a patient family for so long. He urgently needs the opportunity to lay down his fear, unfortunately the shelter is not the right place for that. We wish him a home with empathetic and experienced people who can show him what a good dog life is in peace and without time pressure or expectations. It should be okay if he never wants to go for a walk or cuddle like a normal dog. Maybe he will be good for one or the other positive surprise. A securely fenced garden with direct access to the house is a basic requirement. Currently located in Romania and allowed to travel if he finds a home. Travels chipped and vaccinated (EU vaccination passport; vaccinations: rabies and basic immunization). All dogs are treated against intestinal parasites and ectoparasites at their arrival in the shelter and at least once a year thereafter. The described behavioral observations are based on everyday life in the shelter and may be different in a domestic environment under changed living conditions. 01/2026 Vollpatenschaft: Helen B. Ben, geboren ca. 2018, kastriert, ca. 45 cm Schulterhöhe, im Shelter seit 2020 Ben ist einer unserer Notfälle. Er weicht vor dem Menschen konsequent zurück und das hat leider seinen traurigen Grund. Als wir ihn aus dem öffentlichen Tierheim geholt haben, wurde er von den "Hundefängern" auf brutalste Art und Weise aus dem Zwinger gezogen. Sowas ist schwer mit anzusehen, aber wenn wir einen Ton sagen würden, bräuchten wir niemals wieder kommen, um weitere Hunde zu uns zu holen. Nichtsdestotrotz hat Ben ein gutes Potential, neugierig auf Menschen zu sein und irgendwann doch ganz dezent die Nähe zu suchen, wenn man sich einfach zu ihm in den Zwinger setzt und ihn bestimmen lässt, wann, wie schnell und wie nah er kommen möchte. Meist setzt er sich hinter den Menschen, da fühlt er sich am sichersten. Mit anderen Hunden ist er absolut verträglich. Man sieht all das auf den Videos. Mittlerweile lebt er schon so viele Jahre im Shelter und hat es schon so lange verdient in eine geduldige Familie zu kommen. Er braucht dringend die Möglichkeit seine Angst abzulegen, leider ist das Shelter nicht der richtige Ort dafür. Wir wünschen uns für ihn ein Zuhause bei einfühlsamen und erfahrenen Menschen, die ihm in Ruhe und ohne Zeitdruck oder Erwartungshaltung zeigen, was ein gutes Hundeleben ist. Es sollte okay sein, wenn er nie wie ein normaler Hund Gassi gehen oder kuscheln will. Vielleicht ist er dann für die eine oder andere positive Überraschung gut. Ein sicher eingezäunter Garten mit direktem Zugang zum Haus ist Grundvoraussetzung. Befindet sich aktuell in Rumänien und darf ausreisen, wenn er ein Zuhause gefunden hat. Reist gechipt und geimpft (EU Impfpass; Impfungen: Tollwut und Grundimmunisierung). Alle Hunde werden bei ihrer Ankunft im Shelter sowie anschließend mindestens einmal jährlich gegen Darmparasiten und Ektoparasiten behandelt. Die geschilderten Verhaltensbeobachtungen basieren auf dem Alltag im Shelter und können sich in einem häuslichen Umfeld unter veränderten Lebensbedingungen entsprechend anders darstellen.
