adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Benni has found his people! His story: Benni is a sweet, young male dog, just 3 months old and at the very beginning of his life, waiting with his siblings to find his own family. With a current size of about 30 to 35 cm and a weight of around 6 kg, he will grow into a medium-sized dog. Visually, Benni is a real little charmer. His soft fur is predominantly black with warm, brown patches on his legs, face, and chest. His small "eyebrows" give him a watchful and gentle expression. His fluffy ears and curious gaze make him simply irresistible. In him, various breeds are likely mixed – it's hard to say exactly, but it's certain that he is a very special mixed breed. Character-wise, Benni shows himself as a super loving, friendly, and open puppy. He approaches people openly, enjoys every pat, and is happy to receive attention. He gets along well with other dogs and shows playful and social behavior. He also meets cats friendly, so a coexistence with them is well imaginable. Of course, Benni still has to learn the entire dog ABC. Things like house training, walking on a leash, or even staying alone are still unknown to him. His new family should therefore bring patience, time, and joy to teach him everything step by step and raise him with love. Attending dog training classes can be a great help. Like every young dog, Benni will also test his limits, but with clear and loving guidance, he will develop into a loyal companion. Do you want to give Benni a place on your sofa? Benni travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Due to his young age, he is not yet neutered. However, he brings his EU Companion Animal Passport to his new home. A positive foster home could also help him take the first important steps towards trust. Many thanks to Paulina! You have given Benni his name and thus the chance at a new beginning. As of: 05.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 05.04.2026

About Benni

What life with Benni looks like

Benni is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Benni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Benni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Benni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Benni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Benni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Benni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Benni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
