Bentley

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

by Kennels | Jun 22, 2026 | Dogs, Liverpool, Male, New Resident Liverpool, Dogs, Liverpool, Male, New Resident Bentley was brought to us from a stray facility, due to this there is no known history. We do not have any up to date medical information, so he we will be restarting his vaccinations, flea & worm treatments. Bentley will also be neutered. He travelled by car and had no issues on the journey. He was very excited to say hello to kennel staff and was happy having a lead popped on and settling into his kennel. Bentley arrived at the same time as Cane Corso Hope, while we were settling them in and moving them round, they were happy being in each other’s space outside and Bentley showed no reactivity issues towards her. Until the 24/06/2026, Bentley is in his isolation period so there is further assessment that need to takes place before we can see what type of home he would be best suited to. He hasn’t been walked off site. However when moving between his kennel block and the isolation outdoor yards, he has been very calm and easy to manage, Bentley has a very sweet nature and enjoys having people around him. He can be a little barky when left alone, and can try and bark towards at other dogs that he can hear across site. Bentley also loves company, I’m sure if given the opportunity he would love to sprawl out over a sofa nice and cosy in front of the telly. He loves his treats and has been known to stick his full head into a treat bag or two. He is very energetic and will suit an active home for someone that has time to take him out for walks, set up enrichment and burn off some of that energy. He took a little bit of time to warm up to toys but seems to enjoy a plushie and anything with a squeaker in it. Every time staff walk past his kennel, he comes straight over to the door to say hello, he seems outgoing and super friendly and loves anyone who has attention to give him. He does often pine for you when you leave him. We will hopefully get to know him even more and can carry out further assessments once he is out of his isolation period and figure out the right home for Bentley. About Bentley

What life with Bentley looks like

Bentley is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Freshfields Animal Rescue in Liverpool.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bentley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bentley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Freshfields Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bentley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bentley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Freshfields Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bentley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bentley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Freshfields Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bentley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
