Beroz

Mixed Breed · Female

Beroz came to the animal shelter in February 2023. A sensitive, shy dog with an unknown history. He was terrified and had to get used to the senses of the shelter's homelessness. He struggled to learn how to live in a kennel. He hid from human gaze and was afraid to look at people. Time passed. Slowly, the bright side of his nature began to awaken. He is curious, cheerful, and clever. He has become accustomed to the presence of friendly people. He appreciates and eagerly takes advantage of the varied yard space, the mental games arranged by volunteers. And he is increasingly initiating direct contact with people. He seems to have liked it. However, he is still distrustful, remains alert, and can set boundaries. He reacts with particular concern to seeing something being held by someone, like leashes, collars or harnesses. Such dogs need a lot of time and patience to trust people. But does a sensitive, timid, mistrustful dog have a chance for adoption? Of course he does! That is why today we are looking for a family for Beroz, which would accept him as he is, would give him understanding and tolerance every day, and would give him the time he needs. In a home with such people, Beroz could change day by day. Slowly, in his own pace. It seems that such a plan could be implemented in a home with a garden (securely fenced). A balanced, social female dog could be support for Beroz on the way to new experiences. Meanwhile, we constantly try to gain Beroz's trust, get used to leashes, collars and harnesses and we dream about walks. And we invite you to Brwinowska 48 for a meeting with this clever, sly and sweetie in one. From our observations, Beroz can be a sociable buddy for female dog. We don't know his attitude towards children. We don't know his behavior in the presence of cats.

Beroz trafił do schroniska w lutym 2023r. Wrażliwy, bojaźliwy pies z nieznaną przeszłością. Z przerażeniem oswajał zmysły ze schroniskową bezdomnością. Z trudem uczył się życia w boksie. Chował się przed ludzkim spojrzeniem i bał się spoglądać w stronę człowieka. Czas płynął. Powoli obudziła się jasna strona jego natury. Jest ciekawski, pogodny, sprytny. Oswoił się z obecnością przyjaznych ludzi. Docenia i ochoczo korzysta z urozmaiconej przestrzeni podwórka, z zabaw mentalnych aranżowanych przez wolontariuszy. I coraz chętniej inicjuje bezpośredni kontakt z człowiekiem. Chyba to polubił. Jednak wciąż pozostaje nieufny, zachowuje czujność i potrafi postawić granice.

About Beroz

What life with Beroz looks like

Beroz is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Beroz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Beroz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Beroz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Beroz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Beroz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Beroz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Beroz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
