Beryl

Female Β· Young Β· 1 year

Beryl is a lovely girlie however we're not sure if she's been in a home before. She may need some support with settling in, learning how to settle home alone and with mastering her housetraining! Beryl does have some medical needs which means she is partially sighted. She's not currently on any medication for this and she doesn't let this her him back but her new family should be aware for any future needs. Beryl is a sweet and friendly girl who is just over a year old. She loves playing with toys, but hasn't quite mastered games like tug or chase just yet. She is looking for a home with adopters who can help her settle into a home at her own pace. This friendly girl could live with upper primary aged children. Beryl is friendly with other dogs and enjoys playing and zooming around, so could share her new home with another dog following a meeting here at the centre. She loves her food and with always try her best to please.

About Beryl

What life with Beryl looks like

Beryl is a young adult dog waiting at Dogs Trust Kenilworth in Kenilworth.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Beryl, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Beryl?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Kenilworth handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Beryl on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Beryl if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Kenilworth will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Beryl already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Beryl isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Kenilworth early rather than rehoming privately; they know Beryl and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
