Betty &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Betty now lives in 66879 Niedermohr. All the best, Betty. Heartfelt thanks, Family S. Betty is back … You're wondering who Betty is? Well, let's tell the story of the funny girl from the beginning. On October 12, 2023, our friends arrived at the animal shelter in Linares and found a cardboard box at the entrance of the animal shelter. Beside it lay a weak female dog, which the animal welfare workers gratefully welcomed. Carla, as our partners called the friendly little puppy, moved into the animal shelter with her cardboard box – and inside the box, six puppies, not yet a day old, were found. Of course, Carla and her little family were allowed to move directly into a foster home, where they could raise their babies in peace and recover. One of the newborns was named Betty and grew up in her foster family into a cheerful young lady. In February, the little girl, along with her still unadopted siblings, moved into the animal shelter, and there, Betty was discovered by a couple who adopted her and took her home. Now, our cute princess is back at the animal shelter because her owners are separating, and no one wants to take the dog with them into their new, separate lives. As always, the weakest are the first to be left behind … Betty came into loving hands when she was not yet a day old; she is well socialized and curious. Of course, she is a little confused at the moment and is waiting for her best friends to return and take her out of the world of bars and concrete floors, but she also shows a lot of playfulness with the other dogs and trusts the animal protectors. Betty is not yet a year old and is immensely looking forward to moving to a family that will be true to her for many colorful and happy years. Our friendly heartbreaker likes people of all sizes, knows life in the house, is open to every witty idea, and knows very well how to wrap two-leggeds with her little paw. If you fall in love with Betty's big ears and her sparkling round eyes, we look forward to hearing from you soon!

Betty lebt jetzt in 66879 Niedermohr. Alles Gute, Betty.

About Betty &#8211

What life with Betty &#8211 looks like

Betty &#8211 is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Betty &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Betty &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Betty &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Betty &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Betty &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Betty &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Betty &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
