Betty

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 2 years

Betty is one of the sisters, together with Bianka and Blanka, found by our rescuer Ioana at a known dog dumping spot. Despite this difficult start, she has grown into a joyful and lively young dog. She was estimated to have been born in August 2024. Currently, she is about 50 cm high and weighs around 18 kg. She is active but not overly energetic, and clearly enjoys playing and moving around. Additionally, she is people-oriented and seeks attention and company. She likes to run and play with her sister Bianka. Moreover, she feels comfortable in a group and moves confidently among the pack. At the same time, like any young dog, she still needs to learn and grow further. Life as a house dog requires guidance, structure, and time. Therefore, Betty is ready for adoption. She is microchipped, vaccinated, and spayed. She is looking for a loving home where she can continue to grow, explore, and enjoy life as a house dog. Who would give her a golden bed and a future full of care and love? About Betty

What life with Betty looks like

Betty is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Stichting Help een Hond in Netherlands.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Betty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Betty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Help een Hond handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Betty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Betty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Help een Hond will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Betty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Betty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Help een Hond early rather than rehoming privately; they know Betty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
