Bibi

Male · Young · 3 years

Some dogs seek attention by barking. Bibi simply walks over, snuggles up against you with his whole big body, and looks at you as if to say, “Take me home.” He’s one of those dogs who loves humans more than anything in the world. He’s a huge cuddlebug and treats every moment spent together as the greatest possible reward. Petting, closeness, and the calm presence of his caregiver mean more to him than anything else. Bibi wasn’t always a shelter dog. Once upon a time, he had a home—and it shows. He adapts beautifully to apartment living, travels calmly in the car, and goes to great lengths to keep his kennel spot clean. It’s hard not to get the impression that he just can’t understand why he ended up behind the shelter’s bars. But that doesn’t mean Bibi is a couch potato. He’s a strong, energetic dog who loves long walks. He’s happiest when he can set off on an adventure with his human and explore the world with his nose. Bibi needs a caregiver who appreciates his active nature and provides him with plenty of daily exercise. Socializing with other dogs still takes work. Bibi needs a wise guide who can help him feel comfortable around other four-legged friends. With the right support, in a quiet home environment, he’ll surely make tremendous progress. Bibi isn’t counting the days he’s spent in the shelter—he’s counting the people who walk past his kennel. He still holds out hope that one of them will stop right by him.

PL·Show original

Kiedyś miał dom i doskonale to widać.

About Bibi

What life with Bibi looks like

Bibi is a large young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bibi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bibi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bibi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bibi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bibi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bibi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bibi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
