Billie und Elvis

European Shorthair · Male · Senior · 13 years

Billie and Elvis are two 13-year-old castrated brothers looking for a loving home to spend their golden years together. They are currently in foster care because their owner can no longer care for them and are waiting for the right people to come along. They are quite different in character. I am Elvis. I am initially a bit skittish and need time to trust people. Once I get to know someone, I show my other side: I am a very affectionate cat and enjoy petting. I have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. This is why I am currently underweight and need regular blood tests at the vet. I also receive medication about every 12 hours. This may sound like a lot, but I handle the medication well and let myself be cared for. And I am Billie. I am much more sociable and go openly to people. Currently, I have to watch my figure a bit, because I have become a bit too strong and am therefore on a diet. Since my brother Elvis and I have different needs, we have to be fed separately. But that can be easily organized. We would love to move into a new home together, because we are brothers and want to go our way together. We are pure indoor cats. A secured or netted balcony would be a great extra for us, where we can breathe fresh air and observe the world a bit. In our new home, it should be quiet and relaxed. We can imagine larger, understanding children well. We also know dogs from our everyday life. We wish for people who understand that at 13 years old we may not be as wild and carefree as young cats, but we have a lot of love and company to give. ❤️ Maybe you are the person with whom we can spend our old age? We are looking forward to getting to know you! Please contact us under the message will then be forwarded to our foster care.

About Billie und Elvis

What life with Billie und Elvis looks like

Billie und Elvis is a senior european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Stuttgart in Stuttgart.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Billie und Elvis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Billie und Elvis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Stuttgart handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Billie und Elvis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Billie und Elvis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Stuttgart will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Billie und Elvis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Billie und Elvis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Stuttgart early rather than rehoming privately; they know Billie und Elvis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
