BKH Mix Odin &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male

Odin was given to us after a failed rehoming attempt. In the first few days, he was very stressed but easily handled, but after that, he greeted the comings and goings with a very bad mood. Thanks to the groundwork done by his previous owners, he just needed one more vaccination and could quickly move into the rehoming room and escape the confines of quarantine. He visibly relaxes, gets along well in the group, although he still needs time to settle in, and the same will likely happen with the next move, which his people will have to get used to. Odin is an extremely imposing tomcat, living up to his name in every way, but his inner self seems to be unsure, he is currently more unsettled. We think this will settle with time. Who might help him find himself again, so he can walk through life with pride and gentleness, as we are convinced he will?

DE·Show original

About BKH Mix Odin &#8211

What life with BKH Mix Odin &#8211 looks like

BKH Mix Odin &#8211 is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting BKH Mix Odin &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about BKH Mix Odin &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw BKH Mix Odin &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt BKH Mix Odin &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is BKH Mix Odin &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if BKH Mix Odin &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know BKH Mix Odin &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
