Home » Adoptions » cats in search of a family » Blair Blair I was born on: May 15, 2015 I have been here since: June 2015 I like to: stay at least 2 meters away from me I don't like to: stay less than 2 meters away from me I found my home: ohhh... not yet Blair and her sister appeared out of nowhere in front of an apartment block. Nobody knew about their existence until Brienne, one of the girls, somehow sneaked out - probably from the basement where they were hiding - and discovered the place where the street cats received food. She didn't know, little one, that someone was watching her ... They were about a month and a half old, and their mother's milk was no longer enough. They were wild and very scared, probably because they had never seen people or other animals before, and Amelie, the caring mother, did everything she could to keep them away from the world, in safety. However, she fed them where the kittens wanted, even if that place happened to be the garden of people known for their hatred of cats, which was very dangerous for the kittens, and for the mother ... So they were all caught, stayed a few days in foster care, and then came to the shelter. The hardest to catch was Blair, the wildest of all. Even though she was just a kitten, she fought as best she could: she bit, scratched, fought for her life. But if she had remained there, she would have had no life at all. Time passed and our girls grew up, became wonderful cats, especially Blair, who is not only beautiful, but is perfect! Perfect like a wild cat. She knows the shelter well, has gotten used to it and is relaxed when people don't come too close. However, the problem with wild cats is that ... you can't touch them, you can't get close to them, and if you tried, if you forced it, they would become even wilder, more frightened. All you can do is admire their beauty, respect their limits, their decision not to trust people and their desire to be left alone, until the day they change their mind and allow us into their world. And if that day comes, we will only have one chance to show that we are worthy of their trust. But until then, we will love Blair from a distance, as we have done from the beginning, and we will continue to wait for the sign that tells us that the big day has come, that she is ready to be touched by people. Adopt me! Adopt me from a distance! Adopting a kitten from our shelter is done based on an adoption contract. Why? Because we care! The conditions set by the association Friends of Cats are easy to follow when the person adopting is responsible and truly loves the cats. Thank you!

About Blair

What life with Blair looks like

Blair is a senior mixed breed cat waiting at Prietenii Pisicilor Oradea in Oradea.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blair, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blair?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Prietenii Pisicilor Oradea handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blair on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blair if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Prietenii Pisicilor Oradea will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blair already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blair isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Prietenii Pisicilor Oradea early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blair and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (RO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
