Home » Adoptions » cats in need of a family » Tushi Tushi I was born on: May 7, 2013 I have been here since: July 2013 I like to be: petted I don't like to: be told where to sit I found my home: ohhh... not yet Tushi is a special little cat. She came to us as a kitten and stayed - especially because of a long-term problem that recently got a name: irritable bowel syndrome (or inflammatory bowel disease). There were periods when our Tushi felt well, was happy and it seemed her problem had disappeared - especially during the summer. However, with the cold, the symptoms returned... After x-rays and various tests (the good news, if there is any, is that the pancreas is not affected), it was concluded that there is no other solution but to isolate her and put her on a special diet for this problem, which is expensive but good. And if it doesn't work, we will have to resort to more expensive pills. To isolate her... means to allocate her a room, so she doesn't get to other food and we can monitor her - and space is a problem for us, having so many cats and little space. But it also means that she will be alone for many months from now on, and she is a very well-behaved, friendly and playful cat, who needs attention and understanding. She is happy, and precious. However, she also has hard days, days when she doesn't feel well and... it hurts... The best for her would be to go to her home - a house where she would be not only cared for and petted, but also... alone, or together with another cat with similar problems. A house where the owners would have the patience our beautiful girl needs to recover a little... Hard to find such a home? It is, because not many people accept a little cat with problems, even if they are not contagious. However, we can still hope... and if she remains with us for the rest of her life, we will do everything we can to offer her everything she needs and a lot of love that will compensate for the fact that we couldn't find her home. All in the hope that the day will come when she is well enough to be adopted, without having this problem anymore. Adopt me! Adopt me from afar! Adoption of a cat from our shelter is done based on an adoption contract. Why? Because we care! The conditions imposed by the association Friends of Cats are easy to respect when the person adopting is responsible and truly loves the cats. Thank you!

About Tushi

What life with Tushi looks like

Tushi is a senior mixed breed cat waiting at Prietenii Pisicilor Oradea in Oradea.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tushi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tushi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Prietenii Pisicilor Oradea handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tushi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tushi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Prietenii Pisicilor Oradea will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tushi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tushi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Prietenii Pisicilor Oradea early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tushi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (RO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
