Home » Adoptions » cats in need of a family » Rogue Rogue I was born on: March 1, 2013 I have been here since: February 2014 I like to: sit in the sun I don't like: the new place I found my home: ohhh… not yet Rogue was born on a farm where her mother had taken refuge, probably in search of a safe place and food. She grew up with her brother Rocco and they were fed for a while by the farmer. However, the woman had way too many cats, not to mention other animals, and could no longer cope. Rogue and Rocco were young when they came to us. They were, however, very scared and didn't understand why they had ended up with us... They would hide when they saw us and wouldn't let themselves be cuddled. Although we took them in our arms and soothed them, they didn't trust us for a while. Rocco eventually decided that he liked being cuddled and we became friends. But not Rogue, she always keeps a few meters between us whenever we meet. Rogue has joined the other shy cats, who seem to encourage each other. But not to approach us, but to move away. At the old shelter, where we had more space and an area set up for cats to go outside, Rogue loved to sit in the sun, she was cheerful, but we couldn't even touch her. However, here, where there is less space and no access outside, it seems she is beginning to change, as if... After more than 5 years with us! She is approaching us, accepting us, no longer running away as before. Can we dare to say that she has made a big step? We have managed to touch her a few times, for a few seconds, and we have also thanked her for this sign of trust she showed us. We were extremely happy because this means that Rogue maybe isn't completely lost in her world; there is a small, tiny chance - but it exists - that she may approach people in the future. We have started to hope again! Yes, she is a traumatized cat, whose trust in people was shaken a long time ago, but maybe, maybe, over time, she will change her mind and give us another chance. And if she finds a family, it would be a real challenge for this one to gain their trust. Ideally, an apartment, without access to a garden or yard, because it seems she feels safer in an enclosed space. She would need a lot of time to adjust and even more patience and understanding. Or, who knows? Maybe a miracle could happen. We have seen not once that shy cats transform overnight, becoming friendly and loving towards people... The idea is this: Rogue has started to change after more than 5 years with us. Maybe she got tired of staying in the shelter, maybe she feels that the moment is coming, that it's her turn to go home. Maybe she feels that someone is looking for her... Could it be true? Adopt me! Adopt me from a distance! Adopting a kitten from our shelter is done based on an adoption contract. Why? Because we care! The conditions imposed by the association Friends of Cats are easy to respect when the person adopting is responsible and truly loves the cats. Thank you!

Desi ii luam in brate si ii alintam, nu au avut incredere in noi o vreme. About Rogue

What life with Rogue looks like

Rogue is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Prietenii Pisicilor Oradea in Oradea.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rogue, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rogue?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Prietenii Pisicilor Oradea handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rogue on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rogue if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Prietenii Pisicilor Oradea will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rogue already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rogue isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Prietenii Pisicilor Oradea early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rogue and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (RO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
