Adopt Blondi

Mixed Breed · Female

Blondi is not an easy one. Her appearance does not fully reflect her character. She came to us at the beginning of June – she was tied up on one of the Tarnów streets. Many people ask about her, hoping she is a golden retriever, however, taking into account her body structure, proportions and behavior – she is definitely closer to a Slovakian shepherd or a mix with a Pomeranian sheepdog. Blondi shows protective behaviors. She accepts people she sees every day, builds relationships with them, enjoys seeing them and willingly accepts petting and play. She often sends warnings or fairly intense distancing signals to new people. On the yard, she usually watches the surroundings while standing or lying down. The ideal place for her to live would be a house with a garden, where she could fulfill her role as a guardian and live in harmony with the household members. At the Shelter since: June 2025 Relationship with people: selective – enjoys the company of people she knows quite well, warns strangers Temperament: calm, protective, alert Relationship with dogs: successfully shares a box with other females Relationship with cats: unknown, however reactivity suggests an excited reaction Relationship with children: not recommended Serial number: 123/2025 Box number: 1 Photos:

About Blondi

What life with Blondi looks like

Blondi is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie in Tarnów.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blondi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blondi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blondi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blondi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blondi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blondi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blondi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
