Scrapy

Mixed Breed · Male

Scrapy is a one-year-old male of medium size. He came to our animal shelter at the end of June 2022 from Gmina Ciężkowice. The dog is cheerful on a daily basis, quite expressive in emotions, in one word, he has one of the most hardworking tails in the animal shelter. He loves people and often pushes himself into the arms of a person asking for a little affection. He is lively, when on the yard he can show many tricks, especially when his friends are around, because then it's not boring. Play is not foreign to him, he often encourages it, whether it's a caregiver or a friend from the box. Most often you can see him with stuffed animals, or balls, less often with ropes. Scrapy loves walks, and he has plenty of energy for them, in fact, initially he may pull on the leash. He calmly withstands long walks, and also likes to run. The guy is smart, knows how to calm down, and then nicely focuses on the guide. He would make a great family friend who would gladly greet every household member, gets along with dogs. Scrapy was neutered and vaccinated, has all the vaccinations. He is regularly dewormed and protected against fleas and ticks. Future guardians will find him at Tarnowskie Animal Shelter. Adoptions are from Tuesday to Saturday from 9-14.

PL·Show original

Scrapy to roczny samczyk będący średniej wielkości.

About Scrapy

What life with Scrapy looks like

Scrapy is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie in Tarnów.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Scrapy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Scrapy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Scrapy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Scrapy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Scrapy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Scrapy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Scrapy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
