Blondie

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

We have many animals living with us - whether dogs or cats - who often find it difficult to find a home due to behavioral problems or health reasons and ultimately stay at our foster homes until the end of their lives. Since all the animals live in family groups in the house, our little furry friends are not lacking in affection and security. We have a very large meadow where the dogs can run around as they please and we also set up a training ground for our protégés in autumn 2021, where they can now be mentally and physically exhausted according to their nature. However, with our foster animals, veterinary costs are always incurred - especially with our seniors. That's why we are always grateful when animal lovers support us with donations so that the often very high veterinary costs can be covered. We only want the best for our protégés - even the problem furry friends deserve to be cared for in the best possible way. They can't help it that their start in life was made difficult by a lack of education or bad experiences with people.

About Blondie

What life with Blondie looks like

Blondie is a extra-large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutz aktiv Kärnten in Tierschutz Kaernten.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blondie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blondie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz aktiv Kärnten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blondie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blondie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz aktiv Kärnten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blondie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blondie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz aktiv Kärnten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blondie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
