Blue

English Bulldog · Female · Adult · 8 years

Meet sweet little Blue! This little lady arrived at Battersea with a lovely history with people and dogs and is looking for a calm and quiet home where she can rest her paws. Blue has struggled with kennel life and has been a little withdrawn and worried when meeting new people but with a little extra care and time she has slowly begun to gain some confidence with us. Blue is a Brachycephalic breed and would highly benefit from living in a home where she has access to a garden that she can use as an easy accessible space to toilet and also as her her own private area to potter about in. She absolutely loves to potter and sniff the plants onsite and likes to take her time on walks. She is a very polite girl who would enjoy spending time in the home with her humans having some naps! Blue could potentially live with another calm steady dog that matches her independent nature. She could also live with sensible older children. Blue will still require some basic training and new owners will need ensure that they are providing her with both mental and physical stimulation and helping her to build on her confidence If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Blue, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest.

About Blue

What life with Blue looks like

Blue is a small adult english bulldog dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Blue, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Blue?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Blue on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Blue if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Blue already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Blue isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Blue and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
