Bobby

Jack Russell Terrier · Female · Adult · 5 years

Bobby is a real pocket rocket who loves her walks, playing with toys, and learning new things. Having previously been used for work, she would thrive in a home where she can enjoy plenty of mental stimulation alongside several good walks each day. She took a few days to settle into her current foster home, but she is now growing in confidence and becoming more comfortable with her surroundings. Bobby loves other dogs and is great at matching their play style. She especially enjoys the company of dogs her own size, with a particular soft spot for fellow Jack Russells. Could you offer Bobby an active life full of adventure, as well as a cosy lap to curl up on? Bobby is a 5-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who was previously used as a working dog. She is looking for a relatively active home that can keep up with her, as she's not one to sit still for long. Bobby could happily live with secondary school-aged children and may also be able to share her home with a well-matched dog. She has a very strong instinct to chase anything small and furry, so she's not suited to a home with cats. Bobby will also need to stay on lead when out and about to stop her heading off on her own adventures. A private garden is essential so she can burn off some extra energy throughout the day, as she's always ready for more fun, even after a good walk.

About Bobby

What life with Bobby looks like

Bobby is a small adult jack russell terrier dog waiting at Dogs Trust Snetterton in Snetterton.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bobby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bobby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Snetterton handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bobby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bobby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Snetterton will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bobby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bobby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Snetterton early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bobby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
