Bobik

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Bobik – a calm senior ready for love right away. If any of our residents were to become an honorary resident of the animal shelter, without a doubt it would be Bobik. This is an older pup – calm, steady, and far from the youthful chase after the world. At the animal shelter, we often look for homes for active, energetic individuals ready to handle the temperament of young, rambunctious dogs. Bobik is a completely different story. This is a true "gentleman of the dog world" – created for a life on the couch, with a warm blanket, and close to a human. He would best fit into a home where activity means short, peaceful walks – those that will allow him to attend to his needs and enjoy his surroundings, but won't be a challenge beyond his strength. Bobik likes to walk, but at his own pace – without rushing, with breaks for rest and catching his breath. This is a pup who has already lived his life and today values peace and predictability the most. Our senior struggles with a congenital nail deformity – a condition that causes his claws to not naturally wear down. They require regular trimming because they grow quickly and can cause discomfort while walking. This is a small task that significantly improves his quality of life. We believe that every dog has an ideal human – it just takes giving someone the chance to find each other. Not everyone is looking for a dog to run with or for long hikes. Some dream of a quiet, loyal companion – and that's exactly what Bobik is. We are looking for a quiet, warm home where he will find safety and a daily rhythm that gives a sense of stability. A home where he will be valued – in a wise, careful, and caring way. Bobik is searching for a place for his "golden years" – a home where he will bring peace, a gentle demeanor, soft fur to pet, and that special, beautiful look that speaks more than words. He is waiting for his Human since July 2019. Maybe it's time? Call, we would be happy to invite you for a walk with him. This is a dog who needs to be seen and felt with the heart.

Bobik – spokojny senior do pokochania od zaraz. Gdyby któryś z naszych podopiecznych miał zostać honorowym rezydentem schroniska, bez wątpienia byłby to Bobik. To piesek w starszym wieku – spokojny, stateczny i daleki od młodzieńczej gonitwy za światem. W schronisku często szukamy domów aktywnych, pełnych energii, gotowych sprostać temperamentowi młodych, żywiołowych psów. Bobik to zupełnie inna historia. To prawdziwy „pan pies” – stworzony do życia w rytmie kanapy, ciepłego koca i bliskości człowieka. Domu, w którym będzie ważny – w sposób mądry, uważny i pełen troski. Bobik szuka miejsca na swoje „dożycie” – domu, w którym wniesie spokój, łagodne usposobienie, miękkie futerko do głaskania i to wyjątkowe, piękne spojrzenie, które mówi więcej niż słowa. Czeka na swojego Człowieka od lipca 2019.. Może już starczy? Zadzwoń, chętnie zaprosimy Cię na spacer z nim. To jest pies, którego trzeba zobaczyć i poczuć sercem.

About Bobik

What life with Bobik looks like

Bobik is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bobik, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bobik?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bobik on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bobik if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bobik already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bobik isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bobik and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
