Boni

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 3 years

Boni is ready for a forever dog bed! The female dog Boni has developed wonderfully on her foster home in Germany. From a shy dog soul to a lively, open, cheerful, and inquisitive female dog. When facing new and unfamiliar situations, Boni behaves with anticipation, but no longer with fear. The lovable female dog is increasingly orienting herself towards her reference people, and of course, Boni learns a lot from her pack. She communicates in a sweet way and is overjoyed by praise, "like a bolt of lightning." In response to unfamiliar visitors, Boni no longer reacts with "barking-wanting," but greets them friendly or at least curiously. The clever female dog does not forget visitors who brought treats and greets them especially friendly. Overall, she is a pleasant roommate, and the shared time together brings much joy. Boni seeks out cuddles without being pushy. When there's no time for Boni, the female dog retreats to her cuddle spot and takes a nap. Boni is not a barker. The clever female dog is familiar with restaurant visits and behaves unobtrusively there. Boni loves her dog pack, which prefers longer walks. She has excellent social behavior towards other dogs. Her playfulness can be quite wild, but Boni immediately reacts if it gets too much for her playmate. Boni is an active female dog who likes to be kept busy and exercised. She especially looks forward to long dog walks. A prey drive is present in Boni, with the exception of horses, sheep, and cattle. For Boni, we are searching for a permanent and loving home. This should be rural and quiet.

About Boni

What life with Boni looks like

Boni is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Boni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
