Adopt Bonny Bear

Female

Bonny Bear is a roughly 4-year-old Shar-Pei-Mix female dog who came to our animal shelter from very bad circumstances. Despite her past, she has shown herself to be an incredibly loving, gentle, and people-oriented female dog just looking for a place to finally settle down. Bonny Bear lives with us on a grain-free diet, which she tolerates very well. Typical for her breed, she sometimes has tearful eyes – this can be easily treated with simple eye drops and does not pose a significant challenge in everyday life. When it comes to people, she is friendly, clingy, and grateful for every affection. She enjoys walks, quiet moments, and closeness. For Bonny Bear, we wish for a home where she can experience safety, patience, and love – people who show her that life has beautiful sides too. Anyone who wants to give this special female dog a warm place to stay will receive a loyal companion whose gentle nature touches every heart.

About Bonny Bear

What life with Bonny Bear looks like

Bonny Bear is a large adult dog waiting at Landestierschutzverein Steiermark in Graz.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bonny Bear, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bonny Bear?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Landestierschutzverein Steiermark handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bonny Bear on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bonny Bear if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Landestierschutzverein Steiermark will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bonny Bear already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bonny Bear isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Landestierschutzverein Steiermark early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bonny Bear and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
