Bonny

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

🐾 Bonny – an active female dog searching for a understanding home Bonny currently lives on a foster home and shows herself there as an overall pleasant, but demanding female dog. In everyday life, she is quiet, unobtrusive, and house-trained in the house. She knows basic commands, travels comfortably in the car, and can be left alone – she even seems to enjoy these quiet phases and retreats to her dog bed on her own. At the same time, Bonny is very cuddly, likes to sit on laps, and actively seeks closeness and play. However, it is important to respect her quiet phases, as she does not want to be disturbed then. Outdoors, she displays typical hunting dog traits: she has a pronounced prey drive, is very energetic, and can be well accompanied for jogging, cycling, or similar activities. She is particularly suited for nose work like mantrailing or even for hunting-like searches. Due to a lack of dog and environmental contacts in her past, Bonny still shows some insecurity in new or unfamiliar situations. This can sometimes manifest more prominently. However, with clear, calm guidance and security provided by a person, her curiosity prevails – and she can adapt well to new situations. Muzzle training and further structured training are recommended to give her more security in everyday life in the long term. Bonny is already familiar with wearing a muzzle and accepts it without problems. 🏡 The new home should: 👉🏼 consist of experienced dog owners who can give her security, set clear boundaries, and confidently lead her 👉🏼 ideally have a well-fenced garden (she can jump low fences) 👉🏼 be quiet and structured 👉🏼 either take Bonny in as a single dog or as a confident, well-integrated second dog 👉🏼 not have small children (older children may be possible but should not live in the household) Bonny is a female dog with potential: Whoever is willing to work with patience, consistency, and understanding on her topics will receive a cuddly, active, and hard-working companion. If interested, we look forward to a brief introduction to your experience.

About Bonny

What life with Bonny looks like

Bonny is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. in Stuttgart.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bonny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bonny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bonny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bonny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bonny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bonny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bonny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
