How do I contact the shelter about Boss?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Dechanthof handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boss on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Boss if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Dechanthof will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Boss already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Boss isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Dechanthof early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boss and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Boss

Male · Kitten · 8 months

A non-neutered German Wirehaired Pointer male, born February 2026, height: 60 cm | weight: 25 kg, children: yes, cats: yes, dogs: yes, vaccinated, chipped, available for adoption after suitable introduction. Boss is a German Wirehaired Pointer male born in February 2026, who was given up at the shelter due to time constraints. He lived with his previous owner in a rural area in a house with a garden, together with teenage children and a cat. The youngster is an open, fun, and people-oriented guy. He can stay alone for a reasonable amount of time and is also well-behaved and housebroken. Leash training and basic obedience are naturally still developing, but he is very motivated and eager to learn. He shows himself friendly and social with dogs, and driving is no problem for the handsome fellow. We are looking for active, adventurous people who are aware of his hunting characteristics and want to channel them in the right direction, but also offer alternatives in everyday life and can satisfy him by providing adequate exercise.

About Boss

What life with Boss looks like

Boss is a puppy/kitten cat waiting at Tierheim Dechanthof in Mistelbach.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.
