This animal can be adopted after sufficient acquaintance and provided there is suitable housing. Zeus is a roughly 2-year-old (born in 2024) Malinois male who came to our shelter as a stray dog. Anonymous information we’ve received about his previous life confirms our impression of physical and emotional abuse. Despite these likely traumatic experiences, he has remained an open and friendly dog toward people. He’s very affectionate and cuddly with us and, as is typical for his breed, forms strong bonds with his primary caregivers. Zeus becomes stressed and overwhelmed when encountering other dogs, but we believe he’s not inherently incompatible—and that this behavior could significantly improve in a calm, relaxed environment with the right handling. He loves riding in the car and is always eager to do everything correctly. As is typical for his breed, he’s an active and adventurous dog, not suited for “couch potatoes.” We’re looking for a home with active people, but we don’t want him to be seen merely as a sports companion. Zeus needs people he can trust, who treat him with respect and fairness. He’s certainly had enough pressure and harsh handling already. We consider it entirely feasible for him to live alongside cat-friendly cats.

Zeus ist ein ca 2-jähriger (2024) geborener Malinois-Rüde, der als Fundhund zu uns ins Tierheim kam. Anonyme Hinweise, die wir zu seinem Vorleben erhalten haben, bestätigen unseren Eindruck von körperlicher und seelischer Misshandlung. Trotz dieser wahrscheinlich erschütternden Erlebnisse ist er ein Menschen gegenüber offener und freundlicher Kerl geblieben. Er ist bei uns sehr anschmiegsam und kuschelbedürftig und bindet sich rassetypisch sehr an seine Bezugspersonen. Zeus ist bei uns gestresst und überfordert bei Hundebegegnungen, wir glauben aber, dass er grundsätzlich nicht unverträglich ist und sich dieses Verhalten in ruhiger, entspannter Umgebung und mit dem richtigen Handling auch um einiges bessern wird. Er fährt sehr gerne mit dem Auto mit und ist auch so sehr bemüht, alles richtig zu machen. Rassetypisch ist er ein aktiver und unternehmungsfreudiger Hund und nicht für „Couchpotatoes“ geeignet. Wir suchen für ihn ein Zuhause bei aktiven Menschen, wollen aber nicht, dass er als Sportgerät gesehen wird. Zeus braucht Menschen, denen er vertrauen kann, die ihn respektvoll und fair behandeln. Druck und eine harte Hand hat er mit Sicherheit schon genug erfahren. Hundegeeichte Katzen sehen wir für ein Zusammenleben als durchaus machbar.
