Bowser

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Bowser has captured hearts and deserves to stay forever! His story: Here comes Bowser, a little whirlwind of just five months, ready to conquer the world! With his black, scruffy fur and a few white spots, he's simply irresistible. From his sweet little face, curious button eyes peek out, and his ears are still figuring out whether to stand or hang – a sight that makes hearts race. Bowser is a super sweet and friendly puppy who greatly enjoys the company of humans. He was found all alone on a hill near Bistrița, but there's no trace of that tough time anymore. He's full of energy and loves playing and romping around with other dogs. Compatibility with cats has not yet been tested. Currently, Bowser lives in the public shelter of Bistrita, a place where no puppy should grow up. He eagerly awaits a family that will give him a warm and loving home. At five months old, Bowser still has a lot to learn. He's not house-trained yet and is about to enter the exciting time of puberty. Therefore, he needs a family that will show him the world with patience and love. He needs clear guidance but also lots of affection and understanding for the small "quirks" that will soon come. Also, practicing being alone is needed. The time should be gradually increased, keeping in mind that puppies should be kept with minimal alone time in their first year of life. Bowser will grow to be a small to medium-sized dog and is ready to enrich the life of his new family with great joy. Ready for this little adventure? Bowser travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, together with his EU pet passport, to his new family. Stand: 15.08. But also a foster home would be a good start. Thank you, Sarah, for making it possible for Bowser to take the path to a happy dog life through your name sponsorship.

Stand: 15.08.2025

About Bowser

What life with Bowser looks like

Bowser is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bowser, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bowser?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bowser on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bowser if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bowser already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bowser isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bowser and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
