At that time, the puppies had just been born. Tiny and completely dependent on their mom, they did not have a particularly protected place to spend their first days of life. Fortunately, the little family was discovered and brought to safety. ❤️ Today, Boy is a beautiful black puppy who is now looking for his very own family. And Boy has a special feature: He was born without a tail! 🐶 Boy is a Croatian Shepherd or a corresponding mix. These dogs are intelligent, attentive and full of energy. They need not only physical exercise, but also mental stimulation and a loving, clear upbringing. Of course, Boy needs to learn the ABCs of dogs from scratch. He needs people who understand that a puppy cannot do everything right from the start. 🏡 His future home should offer him security, a sense of belonging and a good mix of rest, activity and shared experiences. We wish for Boy people who like to be outdoors and enjoy accompanying a young dog on his way to adulthood. ❤️ Boy spent his first days hidden between two houses. Now we wish for him a place in the heart of his own family. 📩 Who would like to give our little Boy a home? .fusion-body .fusion-button Interested in adoption? About Boy

What life with Boy looks like

Boy is a small puppy german shepherd dog waiting at Nordic Strays e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Boy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Boy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nordic Strays e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Boy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Boy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nordic Strays e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Boy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Boy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nordic Strays e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Boy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
