Bretxa

Belgian Malinois · Female · Puppy · 7 months

10.07.2026 Bretxa is a very sweet, friendly, attentive, and open young female dog. At her age, she’s playful, active, and curious to explore the world. All that’s missing now are the right people—experienced dog owners who are active—or a suitable family, preferably one with children old enough to attend school. Bretxa always meets her canine companions in a friendly manner, and walks with other dogs are completely trouble-free. Cats should not live in her new home. Bretxa loves water; she can hardly get enough of it—but you’d better watch the video: Bretxa having fun in the water! Your new people can look forward to an exciting time together. Especially a young dog needs a good balance between activity and rest, so plenty of time and space must be available for this new family member. Bretxa is microchipped and fully vaccinated (rabies and combination vaccine). Would you like to meet our sweet Bretxa? Then we’d love to hear from you. 27.06.2026 A warm welcome to Switzerland, sweet little Bretxa! Bretxa is a cheerful, age-appropriate, playful, and friendly young female dog. We hope she quickly finds a loving, consistent home where people are eager to work with her. We’ll be back with more news in a few days. 15.06.2026 This approximately 6-month-old female dog was found chained up and had a difficult start in life. A scar on her face suggests she’s already had some bad experiences. All the more remarkable is her friendly and loving nature. Despite everything, she’s retained her openness toward people and other dogs. She’s very sweet, outgoing, and delighted by any attention she receives. At her age, she’s active, curious, and ready to explore the world. She still has a lot to learn and is looking for people who will teach her the basics of dog ownership with patience, understanding, and loving consistency. Who will give this wonderful young dog the chance at a happy life and a loving home? We’ll keep you updated.

Katzen sollten keine in ihrem neuen Zuhause leben.

About Bretxa

What life with Bretxa looks like

Bretxa is a puppy/kitten belgian malinois dog waiting at Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten in Arme Pfoten.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bretxa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bretxa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bretxa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bretxa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bretxa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bretxa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bretxa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
