adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Brownie has found his people! His story: Attention, listen up! Our sweet Brownie wants to introduce himself. The little guy was found alone on the street near the mountains, not far from Bistrita. Thankfully, Tina's husband discovered him in time and brought him to safety. Not only are the icy temperatures life-threatening for him during this season, but wild animals like bears and wolves also pose a great danger in this area. Now, Brownie can rest at our animal rescuer Tina's place and prepare for his travel arrangements! And what to say? Brownie conquers everyone's hearts with his charm. His beautiful brown fur, adorned with a special marking on his chest and face, makes him a real looker. But Brownie is not just charming through his looks – his character is really wonderful too. Once he sheds his initial shyness, he shows himself to be an incredibly affectionate and well-mannered male dog. He especially enjoys being held and feeling the closeness of his people. But Brownie also needs action: he curiously explores the garden, delights in the first snow, or romps joyfully with the other dogs in the foster home. When fully grown, Brownie is expected to reach a hand-friendly size of 40 to 45 cm, making him an ideal companion for almost any family. With his great character and pleasant size, nothing stands in the way of shared adventures. Whether traveling, excursions to the lake, the sea, or hikes in the mountains – we can imagine all of this with Brownie. His new family should also be aware that Brownie still doesn't know the life in a loving family. He still needs to learn the whole puppy ABC and is about to go through puberty. Here, he needs people who approach with love and patience, and may even need to attend some positively working dog training classes with him and forgive him one or two mishaps. Leash walking, house training, and being alone are still foreign words to him. During puberty, he will likely test boundaries and perhaps forget some things he has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Brownie will definitely be a great lifelong companion. We hope so much that he can now experience the beautiful sides of life and learn that there are people who only want the best for him. Brownie is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He brings an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive foster home experience. We would be very happy to have a sweet man in a loving forever home! Who will give Brownie a loving forever home? Many thanks to Payel B.! You named Brownie. Date: 14.01.

Vielen Dank an Payel B.! Du hast Brownie seinen Namen geschenkt. About Brownie

What life with Brownie looks like

Brownie is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Brownie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Brownie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Brownie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Brownie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Brownie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Brownie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Brownie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
