adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Bruni can travel directly to your final destination! Her story: May we introduce her? This is Bruni, three months old and searching for her human. She is one of seven siblings—Tilda, Möhnchen, Conny, Fredo, Lee, and Cobi—who have all apparently perfected the loyal doggish look. Like her mother Tiri, a German Shepherd-Mix female dog, the puppies are likely a mix of herding breeds. Bruni stands out among her siblings with the longest fur. She is expected to grow to a medium size when fully grown. The family was brought to the shelter by the Dogcatchers, when the puppies were just over a month old. No wonder then that Bruni is initially a bit shy. She gets along well with other dogs, but whether that also applies to cats, we do not know. A puppy like Bruni needs in the first months, above all, loving and consistent upbringing. The little ones are now most receptive to new impressions and learn playfully what is right and what is wrong. House training is an important first step. Patience and praise are the key here. Leash training and the small dog 1X1 must be slowly learned. Also, being alone should be introduced in small steps to avoid separation anxieties. By about six months, Bruni is likely to slowly enter puberty. This time can be very challenging. Old rules seem to be forgotten suddenly, and Bruni will test her limits. Here, clear rules must be set and consistently followed, because the foundation for future cohabitation is laid in this phase. Dog training classes can be very helpful during this time. You can also safely try out different activities later, because a herding dog mix like Bruni needs not only physical but also mental stimulation to prevent her from getting into trouble. If you give Bruni a home, you will receive a loyal companion with the potential to become the best lifelong friend. Bruni is looking forward to your request. Bruni travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to her home, together with her EU companion card. Thank you, Carola, for giving Bruni her beautiful name and thus an identity. As of: 23.09.

Stand: 23.09.2025

About Bruni

What life with Bruni looks like

Bruni is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bruni, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bruni?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bruni on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bruni if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bruni already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bruni isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bruni and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
