Buddy

Cockapoo Β· Male Β· Young Β· 2 years

Introduction: Buddy is a sweet little boy looking for a calm patient home. Home wanted: Buddy will be looking for a fun and active home able to meet both his physical and mental needs. He is mostly housetrained, used to travelling, and would like a home with company as is typical of his breed. He would prefer a quieter home and would like access to his own secure garden. Behaviour towards people/children: Buddy is a sweet friendly boy who warms up quickly to calm gentle people, can be shy and submissive initially. With known people he can be bouncy and excitable! Would prefer a home with children aged 12+. Other animals: Buddy is social with other dogs and could live with a suitably matched dog. He has previously lived with a cat but could be quite playful with them. He may be best in a home without a cat but potential to cat test for an experienced dog-cat home with a confident cat. Additional needs (behavioural/extra support): Please research into Cockerpoos, their needs, and behaviours. He will need regular grooming.

About Buddy

What life with Buddy looks like

Buddy is a young adult cockapoo dog waiting at Raystede Centre in Ringmer.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Buddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Buddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Raystede Centre handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Buddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Buddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Raystede Centre will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Buddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Buddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Raystede Centre early rather than rehoming privately; they know Buddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
