Buddy

Cockapoo · Male · Adult · 7 years

We are looking for a special home for Buddy.I’m Buddy a 7 year old male neutered Cockapoo and I’m ready for a fresh start. My Dad died, so I was taken into the Rescue Centre’s care. It didn’t take long for me to find my new home, but I have a few quirks which made living with me tricky, so I was returned to the Centre. You see I love my treasures, socks, towels, you name it I’m a collector of goodies. When people try to take my treasures from me, I get possessive and sometimes I get snappy, they say I can be quite scary when that happens. What I need is a firm, experienced home, a family who can manage my behaviour with kindness and patience. I’m also scared of other dogs so I need to be the only pet, preferably somewhere rural where I can feel less anxious, as I can get very vocal and defensive.Last year I had to have an operation to save my life, I ate a piece of towel, and it got stuck in my tummy. The vet thinks I may have done this sort of thing before as I have a scar from a previous operation. I’m in need of a tidy environment so that I don’t get into that sort of trouble. I’m a bit of a mischief maker, but with the right, steady family, I promise I can be a very loyal companion to you. If you would like to know more about me, please call the Rescue Centre for a chat with one of my friends. They say I am such a lovely boy, cute and adorable and I’m so much fun to be around, they love me warts and all! If you think you could love me and we can work on my quirks together, please get in touch.

About Buddy

What life with Buddy looks like

Buddy is a adult cockapoo dog waiting at Kit Wilson Trust for Animal Welfare in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Buddy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Buddy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kit Wilson Trust for Animal Welfare handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Buddy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Buddy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kit Wilson Trust for Animal Welfare will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Buddy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Buddy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kit Wilson Trust for Animal Welfare early rather than rehoming privately; they know Buddy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
