Adopt Capri

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Seelchen Capri is approximately 5 years old and has just one wish: to be very close to people. For this very special female dog, people are not just trusted people—they are her whole world. Before Capri came into our care, she lived in the public shelter in Zalau—a place full of fear and hopelessness where dogs must die if no one rescues them. We can hardly imagine the suffering she must have endured there. Her loving nature, with which Capri wins every heart, is all the more impressive. What a treasure she is, it's hard to put into words. Her strong people-oriented nature shows in every situation. When something new upsets her, she naturally seeks orientation from a person. She enjoys every pat very much, and the radiance of her warm brown eyes reveals how much that means to her. She also walks calmly on the leash, staying in close contact and constantly looking back to make sure everything is okay. With a shoulder height of about 45 cm and a weight of around 15 kg, Capri is rather small and light. Whether her longer black fur with the white chest spot hints at extensive hound genes remains her little mixed-breed secret. What is certain, however, is that she looks incredibly cute with her fluffy paws and fringed pointy ears. Even her noticeably shortened tail doesn't detract from that—she just can't enter Switzerland. We could imagine that Capri already had a previous owner, but as is common in Romania, she probably didn't live in a house. Therefore, her new people should have patience and understanding with her and teach her everything a family dog needs to know. It's also important that she is adequately stimulated both mentally and physically according to her needs. Given her balanced nature, we assume she will generally get along with other animals. She has never met cats. Who will give Capri the home where she can finally be what she so desires: the best friend to her people? A foster home would also be a gift. Many thanks, Julia W., for taking over her namingsponsoring. As of 24.05. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 24.05.2026

About Capri

What life with Capri looks like

Capri is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Capri, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Capri?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Capri on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Capri if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Capri already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Capri isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Capri and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
