Paws Patas Input 16 April 2026: Meet Carmelo. Carmelo was completely alone found on the street... hungry, very thin and clearly looking for someone who could help him. He had no one left. No home. No safety. Just the hope that someone would see him. Fortunately, there was a woman with a big heart. She gave him food for two days, slowly she gained his trust... until she could carefully lead him. Then she called us - and thus began Carmelo's new life. And what a dog is he? A treasure. Really. Carmelo is extremely kind, gentle and very affectionate. He loves to be with you all day, close to you, to be cuddled and petted. Everything he has missed for so long, he now wants to make up for. At first, he found a leash very scary. Walking was unknown to him and he completely panicked. But with patience, love and soft encouragement something beautiful happened... Now he walks nicely along, his tail proudly up, and you can just see that he enjoys it. We don't know how long he lived on the street, but one thing is clear: he probably never had a real home. Like many others... discarded as a hunting dog. But that's over. Carmelo was recently neutered and received his chip, vaccinations and passport. He is ready for a new beginning. He tested positive for (low level) Babesiosis and will receive two injections for that, and is being treated for ehrlichia. Carmelo does not necessarily have to live with other dogs - as the only dog he will do great. Because then he gets what he wants most: your attention, your love, your presence. Will you finally give Carmelo the home he has been looking for for so long?

Paws Patas Input 16 april 2026: Maak kennis met Carmelo. Carmelo werd helemaal alleen op straat gevonden… uitgehongerd, sterk vermagerd en duidelijk op zoek naar iemand die hem kon helpen. Hij had niemand meer. Geen thuis. Geen veiligheid. Alleen de hoop dat iemand hem zou zien. Gelukkig was daar een vrouw met een groot hart. Ze gaf hem twee dagen eten, beetje bij beetje won ze zijn vertrouwen… tot ze hem voorzichtig kon aanlijnen. Toen belde ze ons – en zo begon Carmelo’s nieuwe leven. En wat voor een hondje is hij? Een schat. Echt waar. Carmelo is ontzettend lief, zachtaardig en enorm aanhankelijk. Het liefst is hij de hele dag bij je, dicht tegen je aan, om te knuffelen en gekroeld te worden. Alles wat hij zo lang heeft moeten missen, wil hij nu inhalen.In het begin vond hij een riem doodeng. Wandelen kende hij niet en hij raakte compleet in paniek. Maar met geduld, liefde en zachte aanmoediging is er iets moois gebeurd…Nu loopt hij netjes mee, zijn staartje trots omhoog, en je ziet gewoon dat hij ervan geniet.We weten niet hoe lang hij op straat heeft geleefd, maar één ding is duidelijk: een echt thuis heeft hij waarschijnlijk nooit gehad. Zoals zovelen… afgedankt als jachthond. Maar dat is voorbij. Carmelo is recent gecastreerd en kreeg zijn chip, vaccinaties en paspoort. Hij is klaar voor een nieuw begin. Hij is positief getest op (laag gehalte) Babesiosis waar hij 2x een injectie voor krijgt, en voor ehrlichia wordt hij behandeld. Carmelo hoeft niet per se met andere honden samen te wonen – als enige hond zal hij het geweldig doen. Want dan krijgt hij waar hij het meest naar verlangt: jouw aandacht, jouw liefde, jouw nabijheid. Geef jij Carmelo eindelijk het thuis waar hij al zo lang naar zoekt?
