Chapa &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

Chapa now lives in 79292 Pfaffenweiler. All the best, Chapa. Thank you. Chapa is a mixed breed, a blend of two of the nicest dog breeds in the world. The sturdy senior combines the genes of Brittany and Labrador – and in his big, round eyes, his kindness and empathy are reflected, paired with playfulness, curiosity, and even-temperedness. Chapa is a dream dog, but he is already 11 years old (as of May 2024), and we wish more than anything that he finds a cozy home with happy people who will give the lovable grandpa the most wonderful life one can only dream of. The cuddly and clingy heartbreaker came into the care of Arca Sevilla at the beginning of May 2024. Before that, he lived with his best friend, sharing many colorful adventures by his side, being loved and cared for. Unfortunately, his owner passed away recently, and the family of the older gentleman could not keep Chapa. So the happy male dog moved into the animal shelter, and anyone who has the privilege of getting to know him is immediately smitten – but no one wants to take him home … Chapa spends his days happily in the run with his new four-legged friends, where despite his age, he still plays and runs energetically, before seeking his deserved petting and a massage from the volunteers of Arca, before retreating for a sunbath. But when night falls, Chapa is alone in his run, missing the days when he curled up in his dog bed, close to his favorite person, feeling safe and protected from sun and cold. Chapa searches for a place in the sun in his old age, where he can nap, look forward to beautiful walks, and enjoy age-appropriate activities with friends, knowing where he belongs. Chapa is an exceptionally healthy dog for his age, but of course, he is no longer a spring chicken and knows how to appreciate his naps. We know that we have adopters who have committed to our seniors, who understand that they cannot count on how much time they have with the new family member but count on giving a poor soul the most wonderful life they can – and of course, we hope very much that one of these extraordinary people reads this text and contacts us soon to offer Chapa a big, soft dog bed and a deep friendship.

Chapa lebt jetzt in 79292 Pfaffenweiler. Alles Gute, Chapa. Herzlichen Dank.

About Chapa &#8211

What life with Chapa &#8211 looks like

Chapa &#8211 is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chapa &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chapa &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chapa &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chapa &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chapa &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chapa &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chapa &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
