Charlie and Boris

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

30/08/22 Charlie and Boris are a very loving and handsome bonded pair, who are looking for a new home together after a sad change in their families circumstances. Charlie the GSP is 8 years of age and his little brother Boris the English Pointer is 4 years of age. They have been together since Boris arrived as an 8 week old puppy, they love to play and free run together and also curl up together in the conservatory for a snooze. Charlie loves lots of fuss and attention, he loves running around and really loves playing with his ball and retrieving it, his tail wags constantly as he’s such a happy boy, but he also likes to take himself off to bed for some alone time, as he’s gotten older he’s not a fan of being woken up so can get a bit grumpy. Boris is full of life and has a wonderful, sensitive character, he loves to be involved in whatever you are doing and is at his happiest when next to you. He absolutely loves a mud bath and will roll around in any that he comes across S you will see in the photos below. 😂 Both boys have been amazing with the families children now aged 8-11 years, very gentle and very caring with them. They are friendly to other dogs out on walks, happily playing with them and both have fantastic recalls to the whistle. Both can pull on their slip leads at the start of a walk, but after a good run around they both walk home nicely. Their owner used to take the boys running, which they really enjoyed, they would run 10 miles easily, but also enjoyed 3-4 miles several times a week. After exercise the boys can be left at home together for 2-3 hours but would prefer to be with their owners given the chance. They haven’t lived with a cat but it’s believed that they would both chase. They have always been fine on lead around livestock. Both boys travel well and sleep in the kitchen or conservatory together at night. They are still both entire so they will both be neutered as part of our adoption contract. Charlie and Boris are currently in the Lincolnshire area if you feel that you could offer them the attention and exercise they love please contact GSP Rescue UK. Both boys will be rehomed with their 5 weeks free Agria Insurance and our Rehoming Contract. 💜💜 GSP Rescue UK Terms and Conditions apply. 🐾🐾 © GSP Rescue UK 2016–2026 GSP Rescue UK is a working name of German Shorthaired Pointer Trust, a Registered Charity in England & Wales No. 1172457

About Charlie and Boris

What life with Charlie and Boris looks like

Charlie and Boris is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at GSP Rescue UK in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Charlie and Boris, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Charlie and Boris?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. GSP Rescue UK handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Charlie and Boris on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Charlie and Boris if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — GSP Rescue UK will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Charlie and Boris already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Charlie and Boris isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with GSP Rescue UK early rather than rehoming privately; they know Charlie and Boris and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
