Charly

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 7 months

Charly was born on 15.03.2026 and is not at the animal shelter but on a foster home. Please contact only through: Charly is looking for his Forever Home 🐾 Our little Charly is an age-appropriate playful and curious kitten. He loves exploring his surroundings, playing, and then enjoying long cuddle sessions. Besides his playful nature, Charly is also a very affectionate little tomcat. For his new home, we wish for an approximately equally-aged cat friend or cat friend of up to 6–7 months old, so the two can play, frolic, and grow together. An ideal home would be an apartment with a secure balcony where Charly can safely enjoy fresh air and sunshine. Charly is already house-trained and can move into his new home from 01.07.2026. If you want to give this charming little one a loving home, we look forward to your message. ❤️🐱 He is not at the animal shelter but on a foster home:

About Charly

What life with Charly looks like

Charly is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Hattersheim und Umgebung e.V. in Hattersheim am Main.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Charly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Charly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Hattersheim und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Charly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Charly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Hattersheim und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Charly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Charly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Hattersheim und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Charly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
